Very few things could get me out of bed before sunrise, but a maternity shoot on the beach at sunrise will do the trick! Upham Beach has quickly become a favorite photo session location in St. Pete.
I love how mainly different looks were able to get out of one location. The rocks and the grasses are perfect for adding depth to the images instead of having nothing but sand and water.
These maternity photos were shot in about an hour and you can see how quickly the light changes. Closest to sunrise, the light is very soft and toward the end of the session once the sun is up it becomes harsher. I love the changes for creating different looks for the images. Good lighting is crucial for creating flattering pregnancy portraits or any type of portrait. The photographers ability to notice how the light is falling on their subjects and shape it creates depth and dimension and keeps portraits from looking flat.
It only took me fourteen years of shooting, but I have decided I prefer sunrise over sunset shoots. The light is so soft and just perfect and we have the beach to ourselves. In my opinion, it can be kind of awkward having your portraits taken and a million people are watching.
If you are wondering when to schedule your maternity session, they are best between 28-32 weeks. If time slipped by and you find yourself further along in your pregnancy, reach out before it's too late.
I'd love to show you what a goddess you are. I promise the pictures your husband takes are lying to you lol.
